In July of 1953, she returned to the University Kansas Medical School for residency training in the field of Internal Medicine. During these three years of post-graduate study, Dr. Allen participated in research involving the radioactive isotope of red blood cell survival time in liver disease. This research was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Returning to Newton, she became chairman of the Medical Department of the Bethel Deaconess Hospital and earned recognition as a leader in the research of the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

Miss Bertie Ora Cleino graduated from Maplewood High School in St. Louis County. She entered Southeast Missouri State University in 1933, earning her collegiate expenses by serving in various capacities in administrative offices. She began as a student assistant to the Secretary for the President and became the President's secretary two years later.
She received her Doctor of Education from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Dr. Gallagher currently serves as the Dean of Humanities at Tarrant County College-South Campus in Ft. She previously held the positions of Department Chair of English and Philosophy, Assistant Professor of English, as well as serving as the Department Chair of Liberal Arts.

The Yvonne Keathley Scholarship shall be an annual scholarship presented to a graduate of Bernie R-XIII School District or its successor institution. If the graduate is from a successor institution, he/she shall be a resident of that part of the district which formerly made up the Bernie R-XIII School District in 1998. The recipient shall be selected based on scholarship, character, leadership, and need.
She married actor Glynn Turman, on April 11, 1978, at her father's church. By marrying Turman, Franklin became stepmother of Turman's three children. Franklin and Turman separated in 1982 after she returned to Michigan from California and they divorced in 1984. While Franklin canceled some concerts in 2017 due to health reasons, and during an outdoor Detroit show, she asked the audience to "keep me in your prayers", she was still garnering highly favorable reviews for her skill and showmanship. At the Ravinia Festival on September 3, 2017, she gave her last full concert. Franklin's final public performance was at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City during Elton John's 25th anniversary gala for the Elton John AIDS Foundation on November 7, 2017.

He enjoyed a long career at RR Donnelly in Chicago where he was director of their Creative Group . They cared for him at their home in Lake Forest, Illinois until Wynn's death at the age of 20. Upon Frank's retirement in 1980, he and Dorothy moved to Little Compton, Rhode Island, where they were supporters of the arts and the Providence Athenaeum, as well as avid gardeners and naturalists.
